May 2026 CS competitive digest

May’s CS race remained open: AVNG DooM led monthly cash, while QEA|HAVEX paired the most championships among these leading candidates with the largest full ECR result-points increase.

The month

May’s CS conversation was a contest between cash breadth and conversion. AVNG DooM finished with $2,063,383, 46 championships, and a 403-130 record from 535 appearances, while QEA|HAVEX compiled $2,001,000, 62 championships, and 464-87 from 552 appearances. The $692,000 centerpiece, CS Masters 26, did not settle that argument: QEA | DNC Esports recorded an 8-0 run, one championship, and $300,000, ahead of the $180,000 and 7-1 posted by AVNG DooM. The month rewarded both repeated output and a decisive peak performance.

Competitions and leagues

Qualification set up the month’s defining event. At CS Masters 26 EMEA Qualifier, AVNG DooM went 6-1 for $100,000; at CS Masters 26 AMER Qualifier, QEA | DNC Esports went 6-1 for $60,000. Those results led into the larger stage, where the latter roster’s unbeaten run gave the month its clearest single-event statement.

The regional point circuits supplied the counterweight. Across 19 EMEA events, AVNG DooM collected $608,000, 11 championships, and an 87-19 record. Across 19 APAC events, QEA|HAVEX produced $506,000, 12 championships, and 89-11. Across 19 AMER events, QEA | DNC Esports added $371,000, seven championships, and 69-19. That repetition makes the monthly leaderboard a broader test than the flagship event alone.

Best rosters

My narrow first-place call is AVNG DooM: its $2,063,383 month was the largest of this group, and its 11 EMEA-circuit championships add substance to the total. The strongest alternative is QEA|HAVEX, whose 62 championships and 464-87 record surpassed its rival’s totals, while its full ECR result-points increase reached 28.068. ECR coverage for AVNG DooM is partial, so its 10.072 increase is not directly comparable. QEA | DNC Esports is the forceful third case, backed by $1,791,905, 37 championships, and the 8-0 result at CS Masters 26.

Would you give first place to AVNG DooM for its cash lead and EMEA workload, or to QEA|HAVEX for its title count, 464-87 record, and full ECR gain?

Notable transfers

May’s transfer story has a clear financial headline. SRM|Inferiorrr moved for $650,000, the largest fee among 65 candidates. Six days later, Riuu completed a $500,000 move in the reverse direction between the same two clubs. HAV|Starben was another $500,000 deal, tied for the second-highest fee in the candidate set. The evidence establishes the scale and timing of these moves, but not a resulting competitive effect.

CS GOAT debate

AVNG juster remains my pick, but its lead is historical rather than current. From February 2025 through February 2026, it built the record’s longest uninterrupted front-line case: landmark March and April campaigns, repeated high-volume championship months, and the record monthly prize total of $2,949,300 in December. The supplied March, April and May evidence gives it no fresh result. That is missing evidence, not a defeat, but it means the top spot rests on accumulation rather than a current answer.

AVNG DooM is now the strongest alternative. March delivered 93 championships, $2,793,900 and an 8-0 worldwide title; April added another 93 championships, a 560-45 record, $3,008,200 and two more 8-0 worldwide titles. May was a step back from that peak but still led this leading group in prize money at $2,063,383, with 46 championships and a 403-130 record. That is a three-month line of repeated cash leadership and major-event conversion, and a manager who weights the largest stages and present form over the older ledger can reasonably put it first.

QEA|HAVEX has the best case for sustained active volume. Its February brought $2,704,400, 87 championships, a 580-8 record and an unbeaten worldwide title; March followed with 94 championships, a 582-35 record and another worldwide title; April extended the run with a 520-23 record and $1,943,310. In May it again surpassed the cash leader on championships and record, posting 62 titles and 464-87 from 552 appearances, alongside the largest full ECR result-points increase. The direct comparison has limits because the cash leader’s May ECR coverage is partial, so that measure cannot settle their order.

QEA | DNC Esports remains a credible event-first challenger after its 8-0, $300,000 May centerpiece, 37 championships and $1,791,905, but its supplied recent line is less complete than the leading alternatives. The order is therefore still a choice between accumulated durability, three months of major-event conversion, and current championship volume. If AVNG DooM leads prize money again and wins the next worldwide title, would that three-month run move it above AVNG juster, or would you require QEA|HAVEX to turn its volume edge into a comparable major-event run first?
