Account and settings
Single Account Policy
To keep the economy and competitions fair, each manager may create, own, and manage exactly one account.
What counts as multiple accounts
A single person may not register, access, or control more than one ESMO account. This includes:
- Creating secondary accounts (“alts”) to store currency or players.
- Using a secondary account to influence the Transfer Market.
- Using a secondary account to manipulate match results (e.g., intentionally losing matches).
- Managing an account on behalf of another player who is temporarily unavailable (“account sitting”).
Shared connections and households
Multiple managers may play ESMO from the same household, workplace, or school. This is allowed when:
- Each account must be operated by a different individual.
- Accounts sharing a connection do not interact with one another through player transfers, bidding, direct financial activity, or coordinated actions against other managers.
Reporting suspected multi-accounting
If you believe another manager is running multiple accounts, email support@esmo.gg. Include the club name and any relevant context. Do not send passwords or private account credentials.
Penalties
I may offer a resolution to managers who disclose additional accounts voluntarily and have not committed a more serious violation.
Violation of the Single Account Policy is considered a severe breach of the ESMO rules.
Detection
Accounts are reviewed using several signals. The exact checks stay private so they cannot be used to evade fair-play enforcement.
Consequence
If a manager is found to control multiple accounts without disclosing the breach, all involved accounts (including the primary account) may be permanently suspended. A manager who reports their own breach and meets the required conditions, such as no evidence of market manipulation, may be offered a way to reset the primary account while alternate accounts remain permanently banned.
Resolution Policy
- Fresh Start for Main Account: Upon confession, your primary account will receive a “fresh start.” This means that the progress on your main account will be reset to allow you to resume playing in compliance with the platform’s policies.
- Permanent Ban for Alternate Accounts: Any alternate accounts associated with the violation will be permanently banned.
- No Evidence of Market Manipulation Requirement: The resolution is available only if there is no evidence of market manipulation or any other serious violations between your main account and alternate accounts.
Steps to Proceed
- Disclose the additional accounts: Email support@esmo.gg.
- Accept the Terms: Confirm that you accept the terms of the resolution, including the reset of your main account and the permanent ban of alternate accounts. This is a mandatory step for the resolution process to be implemented.
Additional Considerations
- The outlined resolution policy applies only when the issue involves the use of multiple accounts without evidence of other severe violations. Cases involving more serious breaches may be handled differently at the discretion of the platform.
Accepting the policy
You must accept the single-account policy when creating a club. Creating or controlling another account afterward remains a violation.
