2026-02-16 - MOBA "Tactical Identity" Patch

The MOBA “Tactical Identity” Patch

Managers, today is a big day.

I originally planned to release these as two separate updates, but as I worked on them, I realized they go hand-in-hand. So, I’m combining the Advanced Tactics Mode overhaul with the Roster Consolidation update into one massive patch.

This update retires the old “Expert” mode, introduces a new and simpler (while still deep) tactics mode, and cleans up the hero pool to ensure every draft pick matters.

Here is the full breakdown of the new tools at your disposal and the changes to the roster.

🧠 Feature Overhaul: Advanced Tactics Mode

I have officially retired the old “Expert” mode to make way for Advanced Mode. While Expert mode gave you full control, it caused many issues, notably with engine abuse. Advanced mode gives you nuance. I’ve broken down the game into distinct phases, allowing you to dictate exactly how your team behaves from the Level 1 invade to the final Base siege.

🌍 Global Macro & Economy

Control the flow of the game before the minions even spawn.

  • Win Conditions: Define your endgame. Are you looking for the 5v5 Teamfight, applying pressure via Split Push, or playing for Pick/Catch?
  • Gold Distribution: Set resource priority. Keep it Balanced, Funnel the ADC, or play Topside Focus.
  • Vision Lines: Set warding depth. Play Defensive to protect your jungle, or Deep to track the enemy.
  • Game Pace: A granular slider (0-100%) to determine how fast you want to accelerate the game state.

🌲 Jungle & Objectives

The engine room of the team.

  • Level 1 Strategy: Choose between a standard 5-Point Defense, a Late Invade, or the risky Bush Cheese.
  • Pathing & Strong Side: Tell your jungler explicitly to Path Top or Path Bot, and define which lane is the Strong Side for gank priority.
  • Objective Execution:
    • Burn: Rush it down.
    • Turn: Start it, then fight the enemy when they approach.
    • Zone: Keep the enemy away while taking it.

⚔️ Laning Phase

Win the lane, win the game.

  • Wave Management: Highly requested! Instruct laners to Freeze, Slow Push, Hard Shove, or Proxy.
  • Roaming Style: Should your mid laner stay in their Lane Kingdom, or play as a Shadow Jungler?
  • Teleport Usage: Save TP to Flank, use it for Tempo Bases, or greed for farm.
  • Lane Swaps: Explicitly order a lane swap and set the specific timing.

🔄 Mid-Game Rotations

The chess match begins.

  • Lane Assignments:
    • Standard 1-3-1: Pressure both side lanes.
    • ARAM (0-5-0): Group mid and force fights.
    • Overload (1-4-0): Collapse on one side.
  • Side Lane Allocation: Decide who goes to the side lane—your Strong Sider (duelist) or the Weak Sider (safe farmer).

🛡️ Combat & Discipline

  • Engagement Criteria: Pull the trigger On Sight, only with a Numbers Advantage, or strictly Counter-Engage.
  • Target Focus: Front-to-Back (kill the tank), Dive Carry (kill the ADC), or Peel (protect your carry).
  • Flash Discipline: Tell your team to save Flash for objectives or use it aggressively for kills.

📉 Contingencies & Items

  • Deficit Strategy: If you fall behind by a configurable Gold Amount, do you Turtle, try to trade Cross Map, or Flip a 50/50 play?
  • Item Logic: Configure Recall Logic (Cheater recalls vs. Item Spikes) and force Build Adaptations like early Anti-Heal.

🗣️ New Feature: Team Talk

I’ve added a psychological layer to match management. It’s not just what you say, but how you say it.

  • Gestures: From Thrashing Arms to Hands in Pockets or Pointing Fingers.
  • Tone:
    • Aggressive: “Stop playing like a coward.”
    • Assertive: “Stick to the plan.”
    • Passionate: “Do it for the fans!”
    • Calm: “Mental reset.”
    • Cautious: “Respect the jungler.”

You can target specific players or address the whole team to manage morale in real-time.

🆕 Roster Updates: New Arrivals & Reworks

To match the precision of the new tactics engine, I’ve signed two new heroes and reworked two others to better fit specific tactical identities.

New Signings

  • Juggler (Bot)
    • Class: Marksman
    • Profile: A high-risk, high-reward carry who excels at Lane Dominance and Snowballing.
  • Smith (Top)
    • Class: Offensive Tank / Defensive Tank
    • Profile: A sturdy frontline presence specializing in Engage, Crowd Control, and Peel.

Major Reworks

  • 🐉 Cinder (Mid ➔ Bot)
    • Class Change: Battle Mage ➔ Marksman
    • Change: Moved to Bot lane to align with scaling potential. Now emphasizes Objective Control alongside Teamfighting.
  • 🦂 Sting (Diver ➔ Offensive Tank)
    • Change: Significant update moving him away from pure damage into a tankier, control-focused role.
    • Stats: Increased Toughness and Control; added Clear Speed and Ganking strengths.

🧹 Role Consolidation

Finally, I have performed a massive cleanup of secondary and off-meta positions. Heroes are now locked to their primary roles where they are most effective. Flex roles will get a comeback once managers are able to select the role they want for each hero.
